Hot Stone Massage is an excellent way to treat deep muscle tissue, induce relaxation and aid in the reduction of joint discomfort.

During a hot stone massage; smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body while the therapist uses others to massage the areas they are working on. 

The stones are usually made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat and are heated up usually between 120º to 145º in a water filled stone warmer. 

This heat helps you relax and will aid in easing tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body.

Hot Stone Massage Therapy Treatment

A 45 minute Ayurvedic Indian Scalp, Head and Face Massage Treatment with warm oils and hot oil hair treatment.
The Indian head massage is an ancient therapeutic practice used in India for over 2,000 years, (since around 600 B.C), is a more vigorous treatment than the standard swedish techniques used in traditional massage therapy by RMT's in Ontario. 
The Indian Head Massage Treatment (also known as champissage) has the Massage Therapist massaging your neck, shoulders, face, scalp, hair and head all first without oil and then with.

Some potential benefits to Indian Head Massage are: 

Preventing jaw pain, clenching, teeth grinding, headaches and migraines by releasing built-up tension in the head, face, jaw and neck area and relieving muscle stiffness.
Increasing relaxation which can relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Relieving stress and quieting the mind which can also improve sleep.
Stimulating lymphatic drainage in the head, neck and face.

Indian Head Massage Therapy Treatment

Traditional Thai Massage - an ancient form of full body treatment combining passive stretching, compressions and acupressure in a rhythmic and systematic 90 minute routine.
Thai Massage is commonly referred to as Thai-Yoga Massage in the West because the recipient (Client) is passively moved through a range of yoga like postures by the RMT.
The recipient will lay flat on the mat and the therapist will work foot to head over the entire body. 

This whole body treatment can increase circulation, improve vitality and restore a feeling of overall balance by relieving muscle tension and works towards aligning the body back to a more natural neutral position you can relax into. Usually a very invigorating treatment, this routine is effective at increasing flexibility, stimulating the nervous system, restoring postural dysfunction and can be helpful for those suffering from insomnia. 

Thai Massage Therapy Treatment

A warm thermotherapy used for many medical purposes such as: to help ease muscular & joint pain, increase blood flow, improve joint stiffness & mobility.

Effective in removing dead skin & trapping moisture the wax soothes and softens hard/rough/dry hands, feet and nails helping heal dry cracked skin.
Oils in the wax help to soften calluses and can even be helpful for sensitive skin issues like eczema. The heat of the wax produces soothing effects and works wonders to ease muscular and joint pain and helping with mobility.

This product can be added onto any treatment  at an additional cost and occurs within the scheduled appointment/treatment time.

Paraffin Wax - Add On

A gentle and all natural scrub applied to the skin after massage to the area. 

Helping remove dead cells from the skin's surface thus promoting skin cell turnover, body scrubs smoothen out and soften rough, dry skin.
They also draw out impurities and clear congestion but also free ingrown hairs and smooth razor bumps.

Often applied to the Arms & Hands, Legs & Feet or the Back. 

This can be added onto any treatment and at an additional cost and occurs within the scheduled appointment/treatment time.

On-Site Massage Therapy Treatment

In addition to a regular massage therapy appointment RMT's authorized by CMTO may use acupuncture in their Massage Therapy practice to more specifically assess and treat physical dysfunctions and pain of the soft tissue and joints of the body.

- Please ask Candice if you believe this treatment might be of benefit to you. - 
These appointments are not for everyone as some conditions may pose possible contraindications to acupuncture treatment such as: pregnancy, use of a pacemaker, mechanical heart valve in place, skin infection in areas to be treated, coagulopathy (blood clotting disorders), use of anticoagulant medications (blood thinners), or immunosuppressive drugs.

RMT's are not able to bill your insurance company for "acupuncture appointments" as this is a massage therapy appointment with some acupuncture included rather than an acupuncture appointment which can only be provided by a "Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner" and/or "Acupuncturist".

Massage Therapy with Acupuncture

24 Hours notice minimum is required for all cancellations and rescheduling. Failure to do so will result in a fee of the full charge/cost of the missed appointment. 

Payment may be made with cash, cheque, Interact VISA or Mastercard immediately following the missed treatment.
