In addition to a regular massage therapy appointment RMT's authorized by CMTO may use acupuncture in their Massage Therapy practice to more specifically assess and treat physical dysfunctions and pain of the soft tissue and joints of the body.

- Please ask your RMT if you believe this treatment might be of benefit to you. 

These appointments are not for everyone as some conditions may pose possible contraindications to acupuncture treatment such as: pregnancy, use of a pacemaker, mechanical heart valve in place, skin infection in areas to be treated, coagulopathy (blood clotting disorders), use of anticoagulant medications (blood thinners), or immunosuppressive drugs.

RMT's are not able to bill your insurance company for "acupuncture appointments" as this is a massage therapy appointment with some acupuncture included rather than an acupuncture appointment which can only be provided by a "Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner" and/or "Acupuncturist".
